Family

Married to Kristi for twenty-one wonderful years. Three children: Andy, Anna, and Sam. Kristi teaches language arts at Poquoson Middle School and loves photography. Andy loves football, snowboarding, and surfing. Anna loves swimming, changing the wallpaper on other people’s cell phones, and reading mysteries. Sam loves Upward flag football, swimming, and playing his DS.

Personal

I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior in 1979, my freshman year at the University of South Carolina. Inviting Christ into my life was both a salvation decision and a call to ministry. It took twelve more years for me to realize that call to ministry was a call to pastor. My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 (look it up!). Other verses that have shaped and encouraged me are Jeremiah 29:11 and Luke 1:38. My favorite New Testament passage is Romans 8. My favorite Old Testament passage is Isaiah 40.

Besides God and my family what I love most is being outdoors any time of year in any kind of weather. I love the beach. I love the mountains. I enjoy cycling, camping, hiking, skiing, and am learning to surf again after a thirty year lapse. Most of all I love God and what he is helping me become by the power of the Holy Spirit.
